About Me

Headshot of MyExcelSkills founder Will Buggey.
Will Buggey
Founder, MyExcelSkills

My own Excel skills have been a valuable point of difference for me throughout my career, where I’ve led data- and finance-focused programmes for a wide range of organisations:

  • SMEs
  • Private Equity
  • FTSE 100
  • Multinationals

I am really well placed to impart my Excel experience and expertise to your people through our Small Group Coaching offer.

Small Group Coaching Process

  1. Programme Setup

The client puts forward 1-4 people to participate in the programme as a cohort. We can run parallel cohorts to accommodate more individuals, but we limit cohort sizes to ensure focused results.

After an NDA is signed, each participant supplies us with an example real-world spreadsheet that typifies their current Excel usage.

  2. Session Design

Will reviews the Excel files supplied using our documented Spreadsheet Review Checklist.

We design 5 × 1-hour coaching sessions around Will’s feedback and communicate our plan to the client.

  3. Fortnightly Sessions

5 × 1-hour coaching sessions are held with the cohort (one session every fortnight), focusing on opportunities identified in step 2 above and introducing alternative techniques and approaches accordingly.

The sessions are held over Teams/Zoom by default, but an in-person session along the way can often be accommodated. Participants are encouraged to share examples of Excel situations they have encountered since the last session, enabling us to sense check their approach and remove any blockers holding them back in their work.

Participants may be signposted to particular MyExcelSkills online modules to further develop related skills before the next session. MyExcelSkills access for participants is included in all Small Group Coaching engagements.

  4. Impact Review

At the end of the 10 weeks, we provide a one-page Programme Completion Report. This summarizes the progress of the cohort and includes recommendations for ‘where to go from here’ next steps.
